Soccer City FC keeps a keen eye on all things Scotland (see -- Brechin City’s Charlie King Ready to Face Saint Mirren and List of Preseason Friendlies In Scotland This Summer and don't forget Soccer Past: Aberdeen Intervene In Old Firm Supremacy and wait here's one more Collegiate Corner: Cameron Keith). Thus, you can imagine our excitement when we recently read that the Scottish FA launched the Official Scotland Facebook Group.

All the latest Scotland news and interviews direct from George Burley and the squad. Outstanding, now if only the FA would Twitter!

Scottish FA Head of Communications Rob Shorthouse explained the decision to enter into the world of social networking.

"Speaking directly to supporters is a key part of our strategy to improve our communications and to change the public perception of the Scottish FA."

"When we launched our new website earlier this year, we said that we were prepared to try new ideas and to be innovative in our approach to speaking to Scotland supporters."

"Branching out into the world of social networking is an example of this - and also an example of how much the Scottish FA is changing. Perhaps in the past we have not been great at telling people exactly what it is we do. This is no longer the case."
