Here are five from the crystal ball. Let's check back next fall and see how right or wrong we were.
1. Lyle Adams will be a finalist for Rookie of the Year
2. Six first rounders will appear in at least 20 games. Last season there were two - Sean Franklin and Roger Espinoza.
3. Peri Marosevic will be the first rookie to score a goal.
4. Zach Simmons will record the first shutout.
5. Kyle Patterson will be 2009's MLS Rookie of the Year.
