UAE 1 - 1 Iran

Saudi Arabia 0 - 2 Korea Republic

In Group A:

Midfielder Mark Bresciano who plays for Serie A's Palermo scored the late game winner for Australia in Manama, Bahrain. The goal came in injury time as Bresciano beat several defenders before finishing past goalkeeper Sayed Jaffer.

Japan easily dispatched Quatar with goals coming from Tatsuya Tanaka, Marcus Tulio Tanaka, and Keiji Tamada.

In Group B:

UAE surprised Iran as the match ended tied at 1-1. UAE's captain Abdulrahim Jumaa scored early in front of the home crowd. Iran was able to score late off a goal from Karim Bagheri. UEA finally took a point after four group matches.

And lastly, Korea proved too much for Saudia Arabia. Forward Lee Keun-Ho netted the game winner late in the second half.
